So, any thoughts for game #4 scenario?

Why cant we play a super-modern game ? Like 2000+ ? I think it'd be cool!  ;)  Think: EJets, Airbuses, EJets, Boeings, EJets, Dash-8's , EJets, and some EJets tooo..

(Ah.. I must be patriotic - As brazilian, must love Embraer's   - But really, they are wonderful airplanes!)

Think smart, people.

All the games are ending and he will probably replace them with more games.  He may have one that starts in the 60s, another in the 70s....

OK.... a comprimise then

game 4a) 1968-1986 18 years, 25 minute timing (I am a bit biased here because I want a game that begins in my birth year and ends when I graduated high school.. just for the fun of it)

game 4b) 1946-1966 20 years, 25 minute timing (this game would be for all who want to really play with prop planes and early jets.. it would be fun and challenging in my opinion)

game 4c) 2001-2015 15 years 30 minute timing (this game would satisfy those who want to play with all the modern and near future planes..)

How about these three options?

Oh and keep the games around 250 or so players... just my opinion

Guys, 40 year games are not going to happen.  They would last a long long long time.

If a game will last 90 human days, the following game years will take place:

10 minute game days = 35.5 years
15 minute game days = 23.67 years
20 minute game days = 17.75 years
25 minute game days = 14.20 years

Quoting myself from previous page:

Sami said the games will not last longer than 90 human days.

I would like a try a modern game for my first go around. 2001-2015

Sami, could you please post the date ranges for the upcoming games. Since the scenarios will be different and games 5 and 6 will be starting after game 4, this would be nice to know. Thanks.

Top suggestions, some of these time periods would be huge interesting.

I agree with 1975 - 2015 :)

Yes can we have longer games, a lot happens in 30 or 40 or even 50 years, multiple aircraft generations, massive market and costs growth, and a real challenge for longevity.  And maybe start with fewer airlines and progressively open the game to new players.

yyebo

1985-2005, 20 years, 20min timing

a little bit longer game years will increase the difficulties a bit as there will be 2 D check periods for many players.

BTW, I am such a fan to A320 family...

gaffair

Many players are asking for slightly quicker days in game - 20 mins sounds like a good compromise between what people are asking for and what the game is "able" to do.

Using that number and the figure swiftus27 posted, that would give a game 17.75 years which sounds reasonably long without lasting forever  :o

As for the period of the different games, this is what I would do:

1950-1968
1970-1988
1990-2008

Gives everyone the chance to pick the era which is prefered most.

cheers, gaffair

Not decided yet ;)

I really like the 1975 -2015 or 2010 finish with 20 min game days.. Allows you to start just prior to deregulation with classic aircraft and at some point entire fleets will probrably need to be renewed due to fuel efficency, longer range aircraft, age etc.... This would create a lot of unique challenges to every airline and would require a more controlled growth and thought process in planning your aircraft purchases.

captain1

Since many real airlines operate more than one hub city or a focus city, is there any chance on allowing airlines to create a second hub/focus city in which flights can originate rather than doing it with thru flights? I think this would make the game much more competitive and for airlines with hub cities that have more than one major competitor would allow a source of revenue to offset any erosion of profits due to a hub being over saturated.

Sami

The HUB issue is not nearly that simple what you make it sound.. Pls check the feature req's forum (a thread should be quite high there on the lists) for more talk and throw in some ideas there too if you wish.

Sami,
looks like all good suggestions here.. I think the key word here is "choice" and "variation".

vintage scenario, jets take over scenario and modern to future scenario.. all good stuff.. adjust your ideas accrodingly  :)

swiftus27

Oh, and dont name them Game 1, 2, 3...

Make it a theme name.   Like "The Propeller Age"  "The age of the jet" ...

Hi Guys,

I would be very hopefull for a game in the 1990-2005 era, Or earlier around the launch period of the 757, 767, A300, A310 Airliners

Filippo

Hello guys,

I would like a game going from 1992 to 2010 / 20 min game day.

This is a bit like the other game worlds, just that it's a bit longer, so that we can try the newer jets coming out in that period which excites everybody.

We could have 20 minutes game day as I feel that 25 mins is too long. Also, 25 minutes don't fit in 1 hour, 20 minutes fit 3 times in 1 hour (I know this is stupid but many free spaces that we have are concentrated in 1 hour periods for many people)

Honestly, the present/near future doesn't excite me.

I'd rather see the 707 being a good airplane.  I'd love to have Constellations in my fleet.
