About the Game and Roadmap sections added
A new section has been added to our public website, About the Game. This new section gives both new and returning players a clearer view of what the simulation offers and what development is currently ongoing.
The biggest addition is the new public Roadmap. For the first time, you can properly follow our long-term development plans directly on the website. The Roadmap outlines the major feature projects in progress and the items planned for the near future. This gives a transparent view of what is happening behind the scenes and how the simulation will continue to evolve. The Roadmap is a live document and will be updated regularly.
At the same time we are also making an important change to our development approach: There will always be only one single development focus area at any given time. This new method should give us faster progress, clearer planning, and more consistent delivery of new features.
Alongside the Roadmap, the new About the Game section includes a comprehensive introduction to the simulation, overview of pricing, and quick access to the latest news. These pages help new players understand the game before signing up, and offer returning players an overview of all core systems.
All of these improvements are part of the broader AirwaySim 2.0 update, our long-term effort to modernise and improve the entire platform.
Changelog: Backend updates
Many technical changes have been made to the systems, and for our project management too. Some bug fixes have also been made.
Full details available in the Changelog.
New Beginner's World #1
A new Beginner's World #1 scenario is now open!
Join here: https://www.airwaysim.com/game/#game507
AirwaySim has always two concurrent Beginner's World scenarios running (BW#1 and BW#2). They both use the same settings and same time frame.
Our beginner game series is aimed for all newbies and other players wishing to test different playing styles in an easier environment. Duration of one scenario is always approximately 60 real days. The scenario runs for ~10 game years with a speed of 25 minutes per day, and all of AirwaySim's main features are included in these scenarios.
When a BW scenario ends, a new one will start within a few days. The two scenarios are running in parallel so that there is always one BW scenario start every month.
Changelog: Historically accurate aircraft manufacturer names
The aircraft manufacturer names are now dynamic, and follow historical changes. There have been various mergers of aircraft manufacturers throughout the history and this new small feature aims to model these changes.
The update is part of the fleet commonality v.2.0 update, and with this change we can make the fleet commonality bonuses work even more accurately than before.
