Postponed delivery dates

Hi all,

in GW#2, it's now the second time that I buy planes that should be delivered at a certain date (checked it in the "Aircrafts on order" page) and then - maybe when new prod slots are added - the delivery dates are moved further away, around 6 months later.
In one of the cases, the delivery dates have been moved a second time, but forward, though not getting back to the original dates.

Did some of you experienced the same problem? Is it normal or should we consider it a bug?

Thanks,

Arthur

If, when you order those planes, someone else placed their order and taken your delivery slot, then you could only get later delivery time for them.

Well, thanks to you both.
From what I understand from the other post, it can move forward, in case of compression. But why was it delayed by 6 months? Decompression? ???
I mean, it could put someone in dire straits...

It's not what happened. The delivery dates changed after the order has been confirmed.

You want to be thankful that the original bug with this was fixed years ago. With types that have many subtypes released incrementally (such as DC8), the system used to push back some of the existing orders to make room for the new aircraft to be available at approximately the right date - but only for people who hadn't already ordered of course.  I got into the crazy situation of having early model DC8-10s that were originally slated to arrive on 7 year leases in about 1972 not being delivered until the mid eighties when I already had 767s coming along to replace the 707s I had to buy because couldn't get the better DC8-50s and 60s due to my outstanding orders!
