Aircraft Maintenance when for Sale

Is there a way to keep aircraft for sale while C/D checks take place?  When they're returned from sale for maintenance they're adding an extra fleet into commonality, causing adititional fleet cost for a single aircraft.  Worse is when two different fleet groups go into maintenance from sale and I end up with 6 fleet groups when i'm only flying 4.

I might be wrong, but I think fleet commonality only applies to fleets where at least one aircraft with actual routes scheduled. It used to be that way anyway. Maybe it's changed.

As for the original question - I think there is some kind of check box to do 'big' maintenance while they're for sale. I'm not in a game right now so can't give a screenshot, but it's not something I've every had a problem with.

Yeah it's changed with the new fleet commonality rules.  There is a check box for maintenance on aircraft for sale, that I had forgotten about, so all sorted now.
