Carcas Airways today proudly entered the history books of global aviation by accepting delivery of the world's very first Fokker 100 jet aircraft, becoming the launch customer for the most advanced 100-seat airliner ever built.

At a ceremony in the Netherlands attended by government officials, aviation leaders, and representatives of the international press, the sleek new twin-jet — resplendent in the retro colors of Carcas Airways — was hailed as a symbol of technological progress, national ambition, and a bold new era for air travel in Latin America.

The new aircraft, registered YV-100, has departed Europe on its delivery flight to Maiquetía International Airport, where it was welcomed with a water-cannon salute and a celebration of Venezuelan aviation.
