...it must be tough wishing you could afford vodka on a welfare cheque...

In my family people don't wish to get vodka on welfare cheques.

I also posted several examples of unrealistic demand out of EGLL in the game compared to the real world.

Also, don't try to teach me lessons about AirwaySim. Everbody knows this just lets you look like a fool.

Hillians

yes there will be anomalies where demand isn't right but this isn't alone from LHR..
there are several routes in Aws where demand is far from realism. (Israel-Iran, Israel - Iraq are a few examples)

fundamentally 90-95% of it is right..

I'm not trying to teach anyone a lesson about AWS, I know you are the self-proclaimed god of AWS and we all bow your higher power... I'm just stating facts which you love.

LemonButt posted a link in this thread showing other airports having higher demand in AWS vs. RL in a similar ratio.

It did not seem that LHR is off the charts in this department compared to other airports, so that's not the problem with the airport.

But there is one single metrics that everyone insists on ignoring, going in circles around it, address things indirectly, incorrectly.  That metrics is Airport Demand in $ / Available slots

This is one area where LHR is off the charts.  Very simple way to bring LHR in line.  Increase LHR slots by 50%-75%.  Problem solved.

Or simply nerf every airports demand back to 1x.  Since you can now have 10 bases instead of just 4, demand needs to be distributed rather than consolidated.

That's a possibility, but since there is going to be the new demand engine, putting energy into the old one may be a wasted effort.

Another advantage of somewhat higher demand than RL is that the game can accommodate more players, several more routes become viable to fly with the existing demand engine.

To bring this up again and to further proof my point:

Just compare the numbers in GameWorld #4 of (huge) airlines using Boeing 727, Boeing 737, DC-9, MD-80 and BAC 1-11.

There is absolutely no reason to use anything else than BAC if you're fine with their range, therefor it's no surprise the other fleetgroups are basically unused.

The solution for this problem is, as already said, very simple: Make BAC 1-11 a large aircraft.
