Hi Sami,

have put my b747 for sale for now over 1.5 year game time, Its still not been sold. I have lowered the price 3 times and still its sitting there. How does the used market work in terms of buying aircrafts. I have put a few other aircrafts and they all have been either bought by players or bought by leasing companies. This one is taking a loong time.

Don't know where to post this hence I posted in general forum , as I know this is not a bug.

cheers

have you made sure its maintenance is all fresh? I'm still trying to sell some Fokkers in MT2 (been trying for years in-game) and every 6 months I pull them off the market to give them new C/D checks where appropriate as well as under-valuing them.

If the plane brokers have a glut of the planes parked, they either don't buy or buy very slowly.  If supplies are tight, they seem to buy them up a bit quicker.  Depending on the game the 747s aren't usually fast movers as there's often a better plane for most routes available. Seeing that you're in ATB, noone wants 747's because 773's do a better job for the same mission. Humans are a lot fussier about maint being done for them than the bots...

In the last Jet Age, I had 30 A300's, 50+ 727's and a raft of DC-8's on the market at one point, and they really didn't move quickly if at all in the later years of the game (after the used market had a better selection)

I just looked at the plane stats for the 744 - there's 34 flying, 134 parked and 350ish scrapped.

If you compare that to the 77W, there's 431 flying, 99 parked and 14 scrapped. This implies there's more people still interested in the plane than not, whereas the 744 is beyond its useful life...

Your 744 has all checks (A, B, C, D) expired. In addition, it's 11y old and its D check costs nearly 8mil. The C check expired on March 2010 (3 and a half years ago).
Therefore it is highly improbable that anyone would even lease your aircraft. And, oh!, its range is just 5870nm. You can't go to Asia from NA or Europe or vice-versa.
In ATB Jumbos didn't quite get it.

All of your comments are same to what I think, my point is its almost more than 1.5 yr +. I have sold A320-100 in this game with D check expired and thats got sold withn 3-4 months. Hence I am wondering , coz as far I recollect reading somewhre in forums, " if the plane sits on the used market fro a while it will be grabbed by brokers "

It doesn't automatically get bought by them.  They've got to want it.

An A320 is a plane that's in high-demand.  The brokers will buy it knowing that they can put it back on the market and are likely to still make money on it.  An old 747 isn't likely to sell at all, so the AI brokers sure aren't going to buy it when it needs many millions worth of work just to make it marketable.

All you can do is leave it up there, keep lowering the price until a broker maybe grabs it, or it gets old enough to scrap out.
