Announcements - The Age of Flight / New Zealand: Aalto Pacific Lau...
Last post by Tonnic21 - January 31, 2026, 02:06:06 AMMedia Statement — 1984
Aalto Pacific today announces the launch of daily flights between Auckland and Atlanta, operated by the airline's flagship Lockheed L-1011 TriStar.
Renowned for its quiet, smooth ride and wide-body comfort, the Lockheed L-1011 Tristar offers passengers a superior long-haul experience, combining advanced safety systems and fast cruising speed with a spacious cabin designed for extended international travel.
Atlanta provides travellers with a vibrant destination and a major gateway to the United States, offering strong business, tourism and onward travel opportunities across North America.
This expansion coincides with the continuation of daily Auckland–Chicago services and the growth of the airline's flagship Auckland–London Heathrow route to twice-daily flights, giving customers greater flexibility to Europe.
As part of a network realignment, services to Hong Kong have regrettably ceased, and frequencies to Singapore have reduced to daily due to strong competition and challenging economic conditions in the Asian market. Aalto Pacific continues to closely monitor market conditions across the continent.
Aalto Pacific said the changes reflect its focus on customer demand, comfort, reliability and sustainable growth across its long-haul network.

Aalto Pacific — New Zealand's most trusted airline.

Last post by Kadachiman - January 27, 2026, 02:19:10 AMBut in real life operators use them on long routes, and I'm sure once a passenger has done 7 hours in a narrow-body one-time, and realised for a few more bucks they can do their next trip on a widebody probably book the widebody. You can catch anybody out once..
IMO most pax would not even know the difference between one plane or another and are only driven by ticket price.
It's only those of us that take an interest in planes that actually take any notice.
Example - question - did you fly on a wide body or a narrow body aircraft...answer - oh I flew RyanAir

Last post by 11Air - January 26, 2026, 07:06:49 PMAs new game player, I should be following rules better, but since I'm late into the game I have to seek out a base airport, not one that's already full of competitors, and also, of course, some routes that I can make a profit on!

Last post by groundbum2 - January 26, 2026, 11:00:54 AMI operate squillions and nope. As somebody said to me the A321 is badly hit as "too small" is based on the average cabin size in the entire fleet family. So the 318 and 319 really drag the average down. So the 321 will get "too small" when the 757 doesn't even blink. But "too small" isn't a guillotine, it doesn't automatically kill a route. Depends how you stretch it. I often use 321s UK-USA as they aren't going to make me rich but do soak up slots and drive people trying to fly widebodies batty (English for mad, as in bats all flying up in alarm).
But in real life operators use them on long routes, and I'm sure once a passenger has done 7 hours in a narrow-body one-time, and realised for a few more bucks they can do their next trip on a widebody probably book the widebody. You can catch anybody out once..
