October 5, 1973 – GrewAir today announced the official retirement of its entire fleet of Vickers Viscount aircraft, concluding 15 years of exceptional service across its network. This final step completes GrewAir's fleet modernization initiative, transitioning fully to modern airframes.

The Viscount, one of the world's first successful turboprop airliners, played a crucial role in GrewAir's growth strategy since it entered service. Known for its dependable performance and smooth, low-vibration ride, the Viscount served as the backbone for connecting smaller regional airports to major hubs, establishing key routes that remain vital to the airline today.

"The retirement of the Viscount is a bittersweet moment for everyone at GrewAir," said TheGrew, Chief Executive Officer of GrewAir. "These remarkable aircraft were the workhorses that paved the way for our success. We honor the Viscount for its reliability and the dedicated pilots, engineers, and crew members who kept them flying safely for a decade and a half."

"As we look to the future, GrewAir remains committed to providing the highest standards of safety, comfort, and efficiency for our customers."

TheGrew added. "While we close this iconic chapter, we are excited for the opportunities that our modern, 737-200ADV replacement presents for our customers and our company."
