North African Airways is proud to be leading the African continent into the brand new era of ETOPS approval by the ICAO. We are currently replacing all our Long-Haul flights on our Douglas DC.8-72s and -73s, which have all had the recent upgade new engines and which have served our airline so fantastically for just under two decades already.

Our last DC.8 flights are due to be flown in these first few months of 1987 and we pay tribute to that amazingly versitile airliner. However, these new wide-bodied 767s offer:
  • a 28% reduction in required runway length operations
  • around 25% greater range
  • a saving in crew from 3 pilots down to just 2
  • similar capacity to our larger DC.8-73s
  • 260% more Cargo volume and weight allowance
  • All the above with a whopping 18% reduction in fuel consumption
All this means that all but the very furthest of our LH operations are now flown "Non-Stop". This has yet another benefit - to our customers - Our passengers will now enjoy all the modern comforts of a wide-body aircraft, with the very latest in in-flight entertainment and service, and they get to their destinations faster without the fuel stops. We count that as offering 8 huge reasons to choose our airline for your travels through Africa...
