Arabian Airways Fleet Update

There were mixed emotions today when Arabian Airways flight RB548 powered down its engines on stand after landing back from Cairo. Today, Saturday 12th January 1980 marked the arrival of our last scheduled Lockheed Constellation flight - HZ-LRS

Our first Connie was delivered in 1957 and we had a fleet of over 120 Connie's at the peak. LZ-LRS was built in 1951 and delivered to Rhine Air. Arabian Airways received the aircraft in 1966 and it was been a workhorse ever since.

After the final flight, she then positioned to Jeddah and taken to the hanger where she will receive some end of service maintenance, a fresh coat of paint and then will take pride of place in our head office atrium.

Farewell Connie: Gone, but not forgotten

Arabian Airways now boasts an all jet fleet of 210 aircraft comprising of 105x DC8, 75x B727 and 30x B737. We also have an order for 35x Boeing 767-200 aircraft.

Spread across our two hubs, Jeddah and Riyadh, we serve over 180 destinations.
