Not Being able to buy used aircraft is getting old

I realize this effects everyone, but it substantially slows down the game, and is very demotivating not having used aircraft available of the popular types.  Is anything being done to fix what I'm reading seems to be a bug in the simulation?

What do you actually think is the bug here?

The game worlds have a dynamic supply of the used aircraft market and there is no guarantee that some (popular) aircraft type would be available from there at all times.

If the plane model you seek for is not available, try some other strategy with another aircraft or look for the new aircraft market.

This happens in just about every game world. It forces you as a player to potentially change plans or do something different to respond to the dynamics. There's plenty of A306's available :-)

Well, I played a number of years back (~2016), and while there may have been shorter supply of popular models, there was still SOMETHING.  Try searching for A319/20/21 or B737 or E175/195 of Q400, or any airplane that people ACTUALLY want to use, and your lucky to find something once every few days.  According to the way the game is playing this time around, I'm forced to run an old fleet of 707s or 727s, or if I'm lucky some CRJ200s.

Sure I've ordered new aircraft, but as a new airline with limited cash, not only is it EXTREMELY expensive, and not really practical for start up airlines, its also extremely slow for deliveries, as it should be, thus why I'm complaining about the used market.

I would say that the later start date for the scenario and lack of rust buckets in the used market has cut down the options a good bit- MD90's out of production, MD80s not abundant, 737 classics not abundant, F100 not in production and it being too early for Ejets/CRJs... Usually with a late 90's start there's a ton of 727s that I'll use for a good start.

So, I suppose you're right from that perspective, but... in every game world a couple years in, there's ALWAYS complaints about a lack of plane supply...

and if you did get the planes we'd complaint about slot costs. 11M for a week ar ORD/JFK! So you couldn't fly them if you had them...

I'm playing in Beginner World, and boy it's hard to find any good planes like Boeing 737NG, Airbus A320 family and Embraer E-jets.

There is a lot of old classic 737 (but I don't want to fly over 15 yo planes) and Bombardier CRJ (too small for my company).

Is it me being unlucky and the good planes gets snapped before I could find them or is there anything else?

Update! I decided to change my plans. I wasn't very happy about it, but I went for new Sukhoi in my fleet to replace the Bombardier CRJ and maybe the E-jets.

Yes, as others have said, all the worlds have periods when the second-hand market isn't very interesting and you end up flying old or even very old planes. I'd say that the longer the game goes on, the more options there will be for new airlines on the second-hand market. I understand that it can be frustrating because it limits the development of your company, but that's the way it is.

For example, in worlds that began in 1950 it's very complicated to make the transition to jet aircraft with the 707, 737, etc. unless you have the cash to buy or lease them in large quantities. In other words, when aircraft that revolutionised the aviation market are becoming available, it's hard to get them without cash.
That forces you to make compromises and find solutions, and that's where I think the game is interesting.

If you're that desperate you can always turn to Russia for a somewhat viable solution, comrade. Prices drop even lower when no orders come in and you get priority position in the production que because there is no line!
