Breaking Very Long Distance Flights

Years back, Quantas introduced (and others may have as well) Sydney to Europe flights via Hawaii.  Depending, you flew non-stop to Honolulu, got 2 days at the Royal Hawaiian, then reboarded another 747 and went on to London (or New York or Paris).  It was essentially a shuttle service with the aspect of custom clearances and other nonsense.  Thus, each aircraft only flew its 'short' leg; hence, the Syd flight turned back from Honolulu and the Honolulu flight only went back to its original base.  Could the game be set up to do that?  Yes, I know it is a massive coding issue.  And, yes, I am old, and a liberal arts major (International Relations / Diplomatic History), but it would indeed be fun.
