How much is aircraft maintenace and where can i find it?

I have just started an airline, I have two planes currently and a few on order, but checked financial sheet and am paying over $650k for aircraft maintenance?

I have made slight seating config changes however so does this affect my balance sheet under 'aircraft maintenance'?

So the weekly aircraft A Service and monthly B Service is how much?

Thanks for the help in advance

go to "my aircraft" under the aircraft menu, and then click on each aircraft and you'll see all the prices etc.

Bigger aircraft obviously cost more, and older aircraft cost more.

There's also a beastie called commonality. If an airline gets, say, 747s, then that fleet has overheads, it'll need manuals. sims, toolsets, etc. So getting a new fleet will cost, say, 500K a month just for this overhead. Adding a second plane to this fleet will only add say 10K to this overhead. Commonality also listed under aircraft, and scan these forums for conversations. It's better to get 3 or 4 of the same aircraft than 1 737 1 A321 1 757 1 A300 for example. That would be 4 fleets so 4 sets of 500K, 2Mill. To understand what fleet a plane is in look top left on an aircraft page and it'll a clickable link up there. 737-100,200,300 are in the same fleet for example, but 737-400,500,600 and then in a different fleet.

As above, fleet commonality is very important.

When starting a new airline as an inexperienced player I would do the following:

Stick to as few fleet types as possible until you have lots of spare money.  Try to start with just one for now.  Two would be OK if you really need them - don't overlap ones with similar uses.

Pay VERY close attention to upcoming maintenance BEFORE you lease the aircraft. As Simon says, the actual costs for each aircraft are show at the bottom right of the screen. This is true also for aircraft you are looking to lease, not just for the ones you already have. Even C Checks (once every year) are very expensive for a new airline and D Checks should be avoided totally for now.  Try to find used aircraft with plenty of time to run until D Check and ALSO C check - 9 to 11 months would be ideal.  For your very first aircraft, the time to C check could actually be MORE important because you might only fly it for a year or two anyway (you can get 23 months use for just one C-Check if you choose wisely).  In the game I'm playing (year 2003) even a 12 year old 60 seat turboprop costs $300k to $500k to C-Check and that can cripple a new airline as you noticed.  Maintenance gets more expensive with age so ideally avoid anything over 15 years old for now. Also, maintenance can costs a lot more for Russian aircraft.

Avoid making config. changes so early in the game.  Until you are well established there is little point in adding business class - you won't get many takers and you could probably make more money with extra economy class.  Try to get an aircraft with the exact seats you require.  For the common types, the default seating is fine at the start of the game.  Even a 'slight' seating change costs a lot - the logic of the game is a bit off - if you swap, say just 6 economy seats for 4 business, the whole interior will be replaced with new seats costing a fortune!

Basically, keep at it, keep asking questions and keep learning!
