Help, I am relatively new to this game and I have about 25 aircraft, 1 base in the UK and 1 in Italy, basically all route with demand I am flying to, and the rest only have about 100. What should I do. Get another Base? Over supply routes? Try and go further with my flights, but those routes are empty as well. And to follow on to that I am ordering more planes how do I quickly schedule them instead of working on each one individually which takes ages.

Thanks for you help Gerald :)

If the route has a competitor flying, do not be afraid to open a route there too. It just takes time to be profitable (Route Image). Of course better if you can find underserved destinations, but that is not always possible.

Help, I am relatively new to this game ...

- since everyone else is big already: no need to grow fast. take time, be careful. growing an airline is easy, downsizing is the hard part!

- try using small planes. this of course depends on distance and demand. but the rule of thumb is: Fokker 27/50, and nothing can go wrong. if your planes are half full, you are probably still making profit (this of course is also true for other similar aircraft like ATR/Dash 8/etc).

- profits on shorthaul are much better than on longhaul. plus planes are less risky to use, scheduling easier. (take a look at the scheduling tutorial maybe, thats a really good source of information)

- be aware of game dynamics. there is rules in AWS that are not realistic, because they enhance gameplay. they seem to differ from gameworld to gameworld. especially important is the "fleet type rule" - your "staff training" explodes when having too many aircraft fleet types.

- lots of things changed since i started to play this game: the market for aircraft got much less tricky. the slot-system became very much more important. etc.

- ask questions: most people dont ask any questions and go bankrupt without even knowing why. in the long games there is alliances which can be helpful, because people can help you with your problems/issues. (which is also kind of nice since the game can get boring over long periods sometimes and there is some conversation going on usually - depending on the alliance of course) - beginners worlds are much different from the  other "long" game worlds.

There is usually a time when you get blocked at one base. Though there are several strategies after that.

_Look for bases with not much opposition. Requires some patience and work, but sometimes you find gems.
_Push locals to Bankrupt. That's not always possible, but if one your opponent struggles at 2-3% positive margin, then you can play as if that opponent did not exist. Which will soon be tru.
_fly smaller aircraft. This has a limit, as it does not work that well on too big routes. But on a 200/300 demand route, then regional jet and/or props will do wonders. Let's say there is 240 demand, your opponent flies 2 737 a day, you fly 3 ATR72 a day, you'll have 48 pax per plane - he'll have 48 pax per plane. He'll lose money, you'll have good profit.
_increase your ticket prices.
_play the cargo game. It's long to make money, and has special rules (be sure to ask questions first, it can be tricky), but once it's rolling, you may swim into profits. 4M$ of profit per week per plane is not unheard of.
