What do people do to manage D checks.

I find it's not too despairing for used aircraft as I always select ones that have a decent time before it's due and they don't all tend to come at once, but for new aircraft all becoming due at almost the same time is crippling my profits.

time to pay the devil, he wants his due.

If you've been buying new then the D checks should be spaced out at the delivery interval, 2 weeks for smaller aircraft and 4 weeks for larger aircraft. It's something you have to plan for, there's not a lot of wiggle room. If you find a route will have next to no service due to all it's planes being out on D checks at the same time, you could manually start a D check earlier so that plane is back before the others go. It's something to be planned for when buying aircraft.

As you get larger then D checks kinda disappear under the radar in terms of lost pax and maintenance expenses. You could keep a spare aircraft and swap the schedule of a plane about to go into D check to it. You could also lease a plane for a year to use as a swap.
