Do higher flying aircraft help with weather delay?

Most of the delays/cancellations are coming from Weather conditions in the early period game. Would have Aircraft equipped with jets/turboprops allow for more punctuality?

The weather delays are caused by poor weather at the airports, not enroute, so it makes no difference.
