SFO-HGK 777-LR with 9,990 nm range can't carry cargo?

I have a KSFO - VHHH 777-LR with 9,990 nm range that cannot take cargo at any price. The return is 100% CLF with a rich rate. Am I doing something wrong?

The game takes into account prevailing winds so your flight is longer than advertised on one leg and shorter on the other. When creating a flight close to it's range limit, check the little question mark icon next to each leg and see how it works out.

I read somewhere that in the real world jumbo cargo planes fly in a constant eastward direction around the globe so they get tailwinds and not headwinds. Makes sense to me!

It's also worth pointing out in this instance that cargo demand at HKG is very asymmetrical. Pretty much all cargo demand at HKG is on the flight out to another airport, not in to HKG.

As Mort mentioned: Did you check if there is actual demand. In my "modern times" game there in no demand between SFO and HKG, just a negligible 500KG!

Nope, it's asymmetrical cargo demand. Check demand both directions to HKG and you'll see. Potential demand on HKG-SFO is 422,890kg a day, return is 1820kg.
