were did the flight time come from

so i buy a 5 year old DC-10-30F form TAF it has a flight time of 11,780 hours and 3534 landings.  ok np then i look at the leasing history

Aircraft constructed 25 may 1989
delivered to TAF aviation Managment 4 june 1989
bought by Sakura (me) $27,518,661 28 sep 1994

i havent recived this aircraft yet and TAF is one of the npc leasing companys so were o were did all those flight hours and cycles come form

That's what you would usually find with those airframes purchased by some broker that never flew for an airline.

I think of them as contractors doing charters and stuff.
