Antonov AN38 incorrect cruise speed

Hi,

The An-38 200 has a real world cruise speed of 205knts and a top speed of 219. Yet in the game is limited to 180knts.

Is this an oversight or an intention to peg back the 38?

Over 200 knots makes it more competitive with other turbo props and 180knts feels artificially slow.
You also limit the range somewhat down from the actual aircraft. Max range is closer to 900nm, though in practise I guess lower but AWS halves it

An-38 shares the fleet group with An-28 which is tad slower. There are many other a.c. types where the fleet commonality is considered to be more important than small difference in cruising speed.

(and also, Wikipedia is not a reliable source for accurate aircraft performance/range data)

Accepted regarding Wikipedia.

Perhaps you prefer the same information on the English language Antonov website?

The second paragraph confirms maximum speed and is the same as Wikipedia (maybe some apology due there)

I take your point about commonality - but common aircraft can still be faster/slower or fly further/shorter distances and still be common.

If it is due to engines then why not offer the two options as you do with other fleet types, then users have choice - that said in GW3 I don't think I ever saw an AN-28 for it to be common with

No, as route planning / schedules are the same for the whole family, they got to have only one single speed (in order to be processed).

The only other option would be to make every single plane model independent (without commonality costs when it comes to families), thus to put a 733 route on a 734, you'd have to edit it, change the plane, then assign it again. A bit of a pain, you'll reckon.

Ah ok I see.og course upgrading where aircraft are faster that's not an issue - you just have an extra 10 minutes on the turn. Going to slower birds I can see the issue.i think I'd rather still have choice and correct speeds - otherwise you don't get the full benefit of the upgraded aircraft but I guess we have to look after the big fleet boys

They can't in AWS as it's a technical limitation of the system. Aircraft grouped together in the game (commonality) need to have the same air speed
and turn around times in order to work on the route planing page. Distance doesn't matter, nor engines.

So the only way to make it work would be to separate them into two aircraft families and loose commonality effect.
An example where the issue is very apparent is with Do-328 vs Do-328jet. They need to be in the same fleet family but they have a huge speed difference.

Do328jet is a joke here.... Who in AWS will be mad enough to choose an aircraft that burns more fuel and is just as fast as its turboprop brother?

On the other hand we have deHavilland Dove and Heron, that share commonality in real life and share the same speed in the game, but each model is a different fleetgroup.

The Dove and Heron have been merged into the same group
