Hi, does anyone perhaps know why I am unable to scrap some old DC8's that are plus 18 years old? There is no option to scrap them - all I am able to do is put them in storage. Makes no sense to store these aircraft. thanks for the help

Stupid question but do you own them?

And if you own them, did your buy them in the last year?

From the GW2 view, it seems that some, as this one are indeed more than 20 years old, and have been bought since less than one year.

So a possible explanation. This mechanism is an anti-cheat device, to prevent wealthy players to buy old crap from their less fortunates alliance brethren, at a stupidly high price, just to scrap the piece of junk just after.

Yup. So basically you can scrap them a year after you have purchased them.

thanks everyone, that explains it then. They are losing so much money the best I can do is scrap them then after a year. I'm not in any alliance.

Maybe that rule should be scrapped for those not on any alliance.

Yes one could leave alliance then buy and scrap but that would be evidenced in the logs and be subject to penalties.
