Sami has announced that game 4 will not include the new aircraft ordering system. I think that the new system is desperately needed considering the 3-4 year queues for some of the most popular aircraft. I would be willing to wait longer for game 4 so that this feature could be included. Please sign the petition thread linked to below if you agree.

Do you know what the new plane ordering system is like?
Do you want an incomplete new system full of bugs and errors?

It's hard to have a petition mixed in with discussion. Sami has stated that it will be a slot based system. I'm not suggesting that Sami and the other devs rush or put an incomplete feature in the game. I just feel that the existing system needs to be changed and I'm trying to show that there are other people who feel the same about this and would be willing to wait longer for game 4 so that this important change can be implemented.

I agree with Blair,

A new system for ordering aircraft is required and it is something I would be most certainly prepared to wait for, the current ordering system does not reflect how orders are placed in the real world (no airline in their right mnd would put their eggs in one basket and order 50 aircraft in one go) and I feel the current system lowers the enjoyment of the game as the 'experts' at this sim, make loads of money really quick and then clog the ordering system with their purchase of 100's of new planes - a better system would be alow an airline to order as many aircraft as they want but limit the number of aircraft that are built each month for them to say 4 per month.

If you really want to fix a lot of these problems do something that will be far easier to program (just for the next game).

Simply vary the "announcement" dates of certain airplanes.  There are people who have written down the available dates of all the major airplanes.  If this were set to vary from anywhere up to two months, we won't have to worry about certain people cornering the market.

I am thrilled that the new game will be out on the 17th, with or without the new ordering system. It's still a great game just the way it is, so I'll play this one, then that will give Sami time to make more changes over the next couple of months. It's no big deal to me. I'd rather be playing SOME game, then none at all. It will be interesting to see what the 70s is like. It should be great!
