If you want airlines like mine to lease your aircraft - ensure the C and D checks are done.

There are planes on the lease board from other airlines right now with both the C and D checks expired, or about to expire.
A & B's who cares, if the plane is a fit for me - but C & D's... forget it.

If the aircraft are under 10 years old, they are attractive - but I'm not going to pay to service your planes, and allow you to sit back and collect my lease fees for nothing.

That's a good one. I got one of these myself (own fault of course, but it was late that day) and fortunately my other planes helped through this period, even though I just started my airline.
You have to be really focused on everything when you are just starting.

I have large fleet of aircraft leased out. Most are types I dont operate. If i would do c & d checks to them i would also pay fleet commonality fees. Potemtial leaser probably already operate the type so leaser pays less in fleet commonality fees during maintenance. It is also risky to perform checks on older planes, because they might not find takers.

Anyway my aircraft are priced depending on their condition, so leasers should not shuffer finacially (too much) if they lease my planes with due checks.

Personally I don't mind leasing planes with checks due as long as the price is lowered as a result.

Waiting 2 weeks plus 2-4 weeks for a check is a hell of a lot better than waiting 3 years for a new one.  The only difference if a check is due is whether the plane will be ready in the morning for me to schedule or in the afternoon.  No biggie.
