Is it time to extend the game world year out to 2035 or 2040 with the newer aircraft on the market? Or is it just me?

Yeah I agree.  It would be nice to convert a whole fleet type to MAX, NEO, etc, and be able to utilize them.  Taking 15 years for larger players to get enough planes in to convert a type, doesn't leave much room to play with those newer aircraft.

Aoitsuki

the already increase to 2030 is more then enough. not much people are ordering in gw3. due to lack of interest.... extending a few years of empty content will not help.

saetta

if anything games are too long as it is !!

Johan87

the game worlds aren't too long, the rules are making thm this way.
For example a 4 fleet give you enough time to change a fleet furhter in a developt game.
And yes to 2035 or 2040 would indeed make these newer babies profitable then just buy a plane of 300mln for 1 or 2 years.

And when the cargo game is ready and being integrated in a long game world, this would change the game cycle aswell.
Also the way of gaming

Yeah, there are aircraft that could make it to 2040, but not enough to make it interesting. Currently new in game aircraft coming into service would stop around 2020 and after that, it just no longer becomes interesting. There isn't much to wait for. Currently we have a good 10 years post 777X, which is the last major one I can think of, to play if we want and that's it. 10 years is enough at the moment.

Personally, I only enjoy the long scenarios as that is where all the challenges of fleet planning are. I would welcome an extension to 2040 or so.

I would also like to see games to 2040.
The games starting in 1995 (GW3) can definitely support this.

For games staring in 1960 it might be too long though...

MidWorld

I'd love a game from 1970 to 2035. A perfect jet age span.

Aoitsuki

judging gw3 i don't think many people are interested.. with less than 150 player remaining. And a starting time of 1995

I would be interested in one game that starts in the very early age, 1950 - 2030.

There used to be game worlds that started in 1950, and special challenge worlds, but I don't remember if there ever was a 1950 - 2030 game world.

I seem to remember a '55 start from a while back, because I think in that Game World B707's and some of the Comet's hadn't started flying.

I was thinking about this recently; a 1955 start would allow a totally different experience at the start of the game, and a full cycle of pre-jet flying that 1960 just cuts short.

I was also thinking that 2030 is just a little too early to cut off the gw. The 787/350/777x/330neo end up being short of usage and with the planes being so expensive, the ROI opportunity but also the desire to buy the plane is curtailed. An extra 5 years would solve a lot of problems, and looking objectively, it would solve problems at both ends.

1955-2035 would be a perfect game length IMO for multiple transitions and game-play dynamics. Such a GW would really excite me.

The big problem in gws I see is true length. GW4 for example is boring the pants off me. 35 minute game days = urgh. Some people say 20 is too short. Perhaps have a gw that sticks to 25m all the way through.

as I remember in GW4 gameday length will get shorter after some time up to 25 minutes in final decade

yes

Game's speed is 35 minutes per day until 1990, and 30 minutes between 1990-2010 and 25 minutes after that. (note; the time is progress is different from other game worlds this time)

Delighted to see the world's continue from now on until the end of 2035. The whole dynamic of endgame will be changed for the better I think
