If you feel there is a difference please let me know why. Im interested to see what you guys think

(and of course theres also the fact the 737-800 has more range but for this poll, lets play fair and say the A320 and 738 are competing up to 2700NM)

Strictly between these 2 models, it is 738 hands down.  Roughly the same costs, and extra 2 rows of seating, when configured with some C seating.

But A320-200 has one major advantage: it comes to market much earlier - a decade earlier.

It also intensely depends on game dynamics. The more other players favor one plane, the more the other plane is a good idea. If the order list of the A320 is 15 years long, and noone buys the 737-800, then the latter is really better. The reverse would be also true.

Range is a trap, I'm often falling into, like countless other players. For a beginner, having a shorter range avoids making stupidly long flights for birds not adapted to it. 2750NM is more than enough for most single aisle uses.

The IAE engines available on the A320 are much better than the CFM for very long flights (better fuel burn but higher maintenance). There isn't this option on the 737, so it depends somewhat on your typical flight length.  Also the A320 gives you better options later on with fleet commonality. I think the A321 is better than the 737-900ER for example and when the A320 Neo series come out...  I think they give an even bigger margin over the 737MAX. But as already said, acquisition issues will probably be the deciding factor - they're both perfectly good aircraft.
