I woke up this morning...der der der deh...

To find that I had a "Poor Condition Warning" warning on one of my aircraft (#19501)...der der der deh... (doesn't scan - stop now)

All the A and B checks were scheduled, and I hadn't had any "A or B Check Expired" warnings. In fact the last dates showed that it was within 7 days since the last A check and the B check was carried out 24 days before.

The aircraft is, while not brand new, is probably a young teenager in Aircraft years (5 y.o) so its D check was still way off. I decided to do the C check 2 months early ( i.e 10 months since the last one). But it was still 44% condition!

So I've not breached the warranty, done all the scheduled checks, at an approved garage, and yet it had deteriorated to  44%.

How does that happen then?

Is it;
a) A random feature that I've, to date, managed to miss
b) me not reading the update messages from Sammi and a new feature?
c) The man who, up till now was responsible for forecasting fuel prices in my airline has been promoted to Head of MX?
d) Anything to do with the fact that there is now a ranking of Aircraft Condition (ooh! Conspiracy theory!)
d) S*!t happens.

Maybe it got hit by a Sami-random bomb?  Have you been reading the newsfeed?  The world is full of bad events.  Your plane was probably the one that overshot the runway and crashed into baggage truck. :P :P

I hadn't discounted the incompetence of my pilots, but got used to the scrapes and dents from bad parking! :( ;D

(Bit like the Ryan air pilots at Dublin this morning!)

brique

wasn't the pilots fault... RyanAirs new high capacity seating scheme... they squeezed 4 extra pax into the cockpit, one breathed too hard and nudged the pilots elbow...
