Concorde's Price

Hi,

I was wondering as to why Concorde has a abnormal price of $53,107,740 USD in 1962. I have done a little digging and found out that had airlines ordered a Concorde in 1977, it would have cost just $37,864,785. This does not even take into account the high periods of inflation that were seen during this time which averaged over 5% a year. This would take the cost in 1962 to the region of just $21,000,000. Concorde is extremely hard to make profitable in this game due to the enormous capital and running costs of the aircraft.

Please could you reconsider the pricing on this aircraft to reflect real life figures?

I suggest posting the source of the data (or sending to Sami via PM) so that he can update the data accordingly.

Sisimoore,
The Concorde is now (1963) at 37.8m, a 29% price drop. And guess who is the launch customer at 53.1m?   ::)

That's right, yours truly leased the first 7 with 10% discount, but it turns out I am paying a +19% premium over whomever leases now. And how does that look like when compared to the real world of aviation?

it always costs extra to be on the cutting edge of technology.  As production processes improve, the company can offer the plane at a cheaper price.

Alternatively, you can think of it as God's Will for jumping the line in front of "the one who irrationally loves the Concorde". hint: this man lives in LHR in GW2...

Hahaha,
Esquire you mean? Didn't know he loves the Concorde. He should buy it now then. He seems to be finally awake and kicking some ass in the easiest airport in the game. I only started playing this game in September last year and if my memory is correct the number one airline in company value is always from Heathrow, no exceptions.

Dynamic pricing on airplanes makes sense and reflects real life, but launch customer paying 90 to see others paying 71 one and half year later doesn't. In real life either a refund or a reduction in lease price would have been done I believe. Perhaps something for a feature request.

I used to work at LHR and always used to sit by the runway when it took, fantastic sight.

BTW Everyone that is against LHR having a 3rd runway are totally out of touch because LHR already has 3 runways. So if it gets another runway it'll have 4 runways  :P

This dynamic pricing is active also in GW3?  Because now I'm paying the (long term) leasing for a 10 year Fokker 100 more than of a 1 year leasing for a new one.

So, now, I'm cancelling the expiring leasing of 7 years old aircraft, to get new one. I'll pay less than renew it and avoid D check.

I don't know if it was the intention of the change.

Good point. I forgot about the dynamic pricing. It will be interesting to see how low the price goes and see if it will reflect the real life price.
