Tips on saving CI in fleet replacement

HI Guys,

I am currently replacing several of my fleets across game worlds. Part of this intentionally was looking at ways to cut staff costs and get more economical planes. As such I am replacing one type which required 2 cabin crew with a similar (larger aircraft by three seats) which requires only 1 cabin crew member. This means I will be laying off a member of staff every two weeks.

This strategy howeer means I will harm my CI quite badly. Does anyone have any advice to prevent this or minimise the risk of laying staff off?

Regards,

Colin

Hello!

Not really, I usually just fire them in batches. Add some extra marketing to help your CI recover faster is the best advice I could offer.

Is there any room for growth with the new fleet? If so, you might end up with more planes of the new type than you had of the old one. That would lessen the layoffs.

Laying off one employee at a time is going to be infinitely worse for your CI and morale than laying off several all at once. If the new planes are more fuel efficient, maybe you can ride that efficiency until you've completed the switch and then fire the surplus employees.

Whatever you do, make sure your staff settings are in manual before you start scheduling the new planes, otherwise the system might hire crew for them. If you're planning on reducing staff levels, going a couple of game days with a staff shortage will do less damage than having 5 more people to fire later.

I tend to let the surplus staff have a free ride rather than sack them as I anticipate that I will eventually build up my fleet numbers anyway so I accept the over-staffing rather than take a CI hit
Marketing cost to get CI back vs over-staffing cost ????

Hi guys. Thanks for the help and suggestions. I have decided that the marketing to bring up my CI would be too high and to keep the staff I have.

Cheers,
