Alliances do they actually work?

It I am currently the largest Airline located in Orlando, FL (Game#2) with about 46% of the Airline Market Share. I am currently in an Alliance and I haven't really noticed a difference at all with the load factor. The only thing I have noticed is that I am spending millions every year for alliance fees and I am not getting anything in return! The alliance has currently has a rating of 35%.

Is anybody else noticing that Alliances arn't really working for them?

it's true it doesn't seem to have much effect, but i think it's great fun anyway, it's one of the few interactive things here. The alliance options and effects should definetely be improved in future games though.

If it's the right alliance, it has a big affect!!
They're designed to give you a high load factor based on the percentage/stars they have. :D

I have to echo the poster above......have seen minimal boosts.

And I belong to a pretty good alliance...... ???

Yeah, its true. You might see as much as a 2-3% increase in LF due to alliance rating (90% or higher)

Sami made it so where it more or less pays for its self in fees vs LF boost income. The reason was he didnt want to force players into being in an alliance to be competitive. Its basically a place to hang out with friends and talk about AWS  ;)

Will Sami add more features to it? Who knows. However, please keep in mind he doesnt want to make joining an Alliance a "must" for all players.

Hmmm, must have changed since betas.  :-[

That, or people are really loving my airline. ;]
I choose both.  ;D

I'm cool with that, in fact I'd say it's great that it is that way.

I enjoy the Clear Skies forum, and the competition between alliances is also something fun to gander out while waiting those last 15 minutes for new planes to arrive, lol.

;D, nah.....Clear Skies is clearly head and shoulders above everyone else.  Not much competition from those World folks.... :P

I can concur with Pike on this one... (not only because he is my alliance partner  ;D )

Is it possible to lease an aircraft cheaply to another alliance member without putting it on the open market? (Incase somebody snaps it up)

Thanks
