Air New Zealand plane on manual page

I'm from New Zealand, so seeing the photo on the manual page makes me smile:

Question is, what is that Air New Zealand plane, and where is it?

I'm almost positive it's a Bombardier Q300. As for where it is, I'll take a stab at Christchurch... Anybody have a different opinion, or an answer?

Looks more like an ATR to me...

With the entrance door being to the rear it IS an ATR for sure ;)

I live in Dunedin and that definitely looks like Christchurch airport to me.

The main gear position shows that it is an ATR.

knowing that fact makes me realize, that NZ air traffic in AWS is pretty realistic...

The difference is easy to tell from flying on Bombardiers and ATRs, honestly I must admit I prefer the ATRs.

Not when you're loading them! When you're dealing with a decidedly un-AWS-like turn-around time of 20 minutes and you have hundreds of kilos to offload from the rear cargo hold, through a narrow way clogged with crew bags, brooms, crap-loads of catering supplies and the c/a herself, the thought of hurtling a molotov cocktail into the ATR design department occasionally springs to mind. :P

Couldn't agree more.

The tail prop is a joke, needed to make sure the plane doesn't flip to the back when the passengers board/deboard. Coz the door stupidly has been installed at the back.
The right engine being the APU just running with the propeller stopped, freaking annoying, and damn loud.
The CKPT door being inop once the FWD compartment is filled with baggage, and thus having a "document hatch" under the CAPTs window....

All in all, a completely mis-constructed airplane.

And yeah, those 20 minute TATs are really hard to hold.
