Sorry if this has been discussed before, but are there any plans for airwaysim v.1.4 in the near future.

Thanks

Bill

Even Chuck Norris doesn't discuss 1.4.

Let's just say that Jesus returns and there are spaceships and efficient aircraft made in Russia.

Woah, judging by that v1.4 is due in at least 2 decades! Along with Flying Goats, Santas slay and City Based Demand!

Couldn't we just start with v1.3.1? we are all aching for something new to get our teeth into.......

The version number is a bit irrelevant. Since games are longer than before the rollout of new versions is rather unpractical. If we have started out a new game that lasts 6 months with v.1.3 and 1.4 would come out in a month then the old game would still be with 1.3 for the remainder of 5,5 months.

The last large update pack for example (the changes to passenger distribution systems) would definitely would have been a new "version" considering the magnitude of changes, but due to other things it was not practical to be named as a new version but instead was integrated into current version (although not into the running games back then).

Most of the updates will be going into the current version still for time to come, and a new version number will be pushed out only if the updates are so major that they cannot fit into the current running games without too much trouble.

In other words if we'd release a new version or a new "build" from every tiny update, we'd have something of v.3.6.54121 already, but that's not the style - although that would be easier in the view of marketing since the current v.1.3 rolling updates may go a bit unnoticed but this current approach is way easier to handle.

For fun you can count here ( https://www.airwaysim.com/forum/index.php/topic,26356.0.html ) how many updates 1.3 has received since it was pushed out in 7/2011.

(next new thing will be a new UI and site layout by the way...)

I was going to say judging by the list made at the beginning of v1.3 update it seems you are on last on that list (the graphic update.) Given the preview in said thread. I was thinking that it seems we have had a lot that has been said to be in v1.3 keep going on about v1.3 when a good proportion of it is here! Perhaps that thread should just be named the AirwaySim Update thread!

When proper fuel consumption data for all Russian planes makes it into AWS :D

I'm too busy at the moment to do any more researching and bug reporting but I'll drop this one for ppl to ponder on and maybe spur some interest:
Il-62M at 12100m cruise fuel consumption is under 6000kg/h with T-Off + climb to 9600m being 14000kg/h  averaged... example flight calculations from manual state total flight average being ~7000kg/h for 4300nm flight(instead of current 14000kg/h). Tu-154M uses same engines which would give it consumption of roughly 5000kg/h ;)

Boeing and Airbus will go BK if Russian birds have proper performance spec.
