Hi Guys,
I have not played here for good couple of years just returned this week but what is surprising that weekend demand is lower then weekday.
This is not realistic at all.... Can we get this amended.
What are your thoughts / opinions on that matter
Cheers

Yes this is something that has to be discussed my routes are somewhat the same, also something unrealistic is seasonal demand, same demand at christmas and september for example?!

I am not sure how complicated it would be to arrange for algorithm for seasonal demand.I am pretty sure that it would be easier to change demand over the weekend vs weekdays.

Normally demand IS smaller on weekends, look how many routes in RL are 3 flights from 1-5, one or none on 6 and 7.Saturday is definitely the laziest day on every major airport.
Where do you have your informations from?
The whole concept of the game is clearly not based on RL demands on any special day or season per destination, it is modelled after the "big picture", where business travel rules the world, not leasure PAX.
Splitting up world demand into special demand groups is something yet to come, but there are other refinements of demand model still in the making, see city-based demand, so it´s pretty hopeless to ask for it right now.

Christmas demand in Kuwait? Try Ramadan.

Well I have to agree with Saturday however lowest demand normally exists  tue-wed not weekends. I am basing my judgment on experience and schedules of majority of airlines

Could you please be so kind and show me a major airline which flies less on Tuesdays and Wednesday than on Saturdays, since I have never seen one of those.

If you agree on sa being the slowest day, how can you afterwards say that tue-wed are slower? Makes no sense.
Game models lower demands on tue-wed already. Game creator is still an active pilot, I think he knows when he has to work most or gets a day off quite well. You are the first and only one to see a problem with the day-to-day demands anyway.

It is my experience that many domestic USA airlines do cut back on some routes - especially on Saturday evening and perhaps a little on Sunday morning.  Some airlines use some of these idle aircraft to fly to leisure destinations - often to cruise ports.

The common belief is that some variation of Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday are the best days to find discount airfares since many business fliers and others prefer or need to fly on Monday, Friday and Sunday.

On the other hand, except for late Saturday and early Sunday, it is my experience that the flights still operate their regular schedule -whether there is high demand or not.  The airlines compensate for slightly lower demand with slightly discounted fares.

My only concern with the demand on AirwaySim is that demand on Sunday should really equal days of the highest (or almost highest) demand.

Where I work we run much fewer flights all day Saturday and slightly less on Sundays. It's the regular schedule and loads the rest of the week with Monday and Friday the heaviest loads.

It depends on what airline we are talking about. CO (now UA) operates different schedules almost every day of the week. The Monday and Friday schedules are pretty much identical, while reductions are scheduled for every other day of the week. At Southwest, Monday to Friday schedules are the same every day, Saturday is about a 30% reduction and Sunday about a 20% reduction, sometimes more or less depending on the time of year. Loads during the week tend to hold pretty steady, but as was discussed here steady loads are not necessarily and indicator of steady yields. As a ramper, knowledge of yields is just a bit above my pay grade, but I can make an educated guess as to when the higher yielding customers are flying. Monday, Thursday, and Friday there are fewer bags checked, and those that are are more likely to be be the high end, leather, Louis Vuitton type bags, while mid week and weekend bags tend to be more the Wal-Mart type with price tags still attached or 80 year old bags with latches falling off and duct tape holding them closed.
