Staff morale

Hey,

Just quickie... does this really affect anything?

Just started in MT7 and was looking for any little edge I could find. So, i dropped my CEO salary a tad ( i'm independently wealthy lol ), and hiked the salaries of my middle managers as a compensate... they were truly delighted with this decision and jumped to 95 morale, whilst my other newborns are languishing in the 60's...

So, my Q is... will these superbly motivated middle managers up my airlines game in any quantifiable way? I'd like to think they are cracking the whip as I speak, drilling my troops, whilst coming up with ever more fun, but cheap, ways to bond us all as a team ... :)

Nope, just like in real life, they are on the golf course after along lunch whilst the minions actually come up with the plans and do the work... except for route strategists,..they just play Warcraft all day in between pizza deliveries....

seriously though : CEO salary has no effect at all, except as an expense : high staff morale helps stop strikes and similar which could cause cancels or delays ; but those usually occur after a drop in it due to staff lay-offs or salary cuts.

So no, your CEO wage cut has done nothing much to enthuse your oppressed and low-paid minions... not even the managers...

Thanks brique...

Damn it... I guess it's just me then, having to carry the can for an overly optimistic fuel contract sign off!

If only I could blame the troops...

If anyone is caught with a WOW game on the go it'll be curtains for them! At least have a little class and play EVE lol

Can I just say that I've put my CEO to 0 wages but left all the rest to automatic and all my staff is at 100%

A lot of players have CEO salary at zero, as it is an expense with no gain in this game.

You have just started and have signed a fuel contract?

My bet is that you are losing money on that decision.
The discount only applies to fuel at your home base not where you fly too, so you need to half your monthly fuel bill to see if the additional fuel contract cost is covered with the discount offered.

e,g, $10,000,00 per month fuel bill equates to $5,000,00 cost at your home base
so if fuel contract offers 10% discount at $500,000 per month cost (discount never this high but its to maker maths easy)
then you are even (with the current aircraft fleet you are operating)

As a new airline I doubt you are saving anywhere near enough to cover the contract cost.

Ricademus

I do have a fuel contract yes and I am saving too

I did jump too soon on the fuel contract for sure... essential later on, but I hadn't played the game for a while and got a bit carried away when I was starting a new airline for the first time in ages...

It's gonna slow me down for a bit, but hoping it won't be a terminal error!

Sometimes it can be a good thing to get a fuel contract pretty quickly after opening a new base for example. The reason for this is that the monthly fees offered are much lower than if you wait until you've based .. say 10 aircraft at the base.

Captim

The way fuel has spiked since I started my airline in January 05, the decision is looking far more favourable!
