7 day schedule

Mr.HP

Hi,

So how do you guys plan 7 day schedule? And how do you apply the schedule to the A/C in the most optimal and convenient way?

For me, the first 7 day schedule I did was by closing routes of 7 A/C, then open each individual route for each day for each A/C. Luckily, we have the "open new route like this on the next day", but still a painful process for me. It took me 1h for all the re-schedule, and also took me some revenue, as all routes was closed

OK, now I'm doing a second 7 day schedule. This time, I put them (each individual flight for 7 day) straight in the first A/C, then when the second A/C comes, have to schedule again like the first one, except moving forward by 1 day and go on... This way seems to be more convenient than the first way, and we can almost leave no empty hole between flights, thus maximize the flight time

Hope you guys understand what I'm talking about, coz it's a little bi messy

Thanks

Its easier to show my 7 day then to explain it...
below is an example of one of my Long Haul 7 days.

open like 12 cities you want to fly to that are appropriate range, runway length, demand for the Aircraft seating makeup...
-Range, don't go past your shortest range of your 7 aircraft or your available seats will suffer.
-make sure that Aircraft can land and takeoff non weight restricted I hate seeing someone fly and carry 11 pax.
-make sure the  demand is correct for the 5-6 routes (LH) or more (SH) you will have on that Aircraft, aka, you have 20 business seats and 8 first class make sure your picking cities with that demand, so you dont waste seats/space.

-make sure you use appropriate turn times during the flight creation AND AFTER the flight (aka between the end of one and the start of the next.)
I do this by adding the turn time to the end of the last flight and using that as the next takeoff time.

"tweaking"
times to aim your 7 day landings and takeoffs for base, destination, and base again...
the farther you fly the less they care when they get there to a point...
Best 0405-2000 thats when you want to fly right?
Avoid 2100?-2400  its a slow slope Ive not figured out I do use alot of these time long haul seems less prone to this time issue
don't land or takeoff 2400-0400  (not to say you can't but LF will suffer depending on distance traveled, and competition)

Hope this helps?!?

However, note these times work best for the Current Beginners World. The Game Engine has been changed slightly so it encourages departures after 0600 but no later than approximately 2330.

Making a final touch down between 0000 and 0400, so long as the last leg of your flight doesn't depart between those times is certainly fine. (Example, Return flight departs at 2320 and lands at 0230 is usually fine). So shoot to have the last leg of your flight (the return flight) depart no later than 23300 so that it arrives between 0000-0400.

Doing a short flight starting at 2100 is not a bad idea though since usually they'll be back before midnight or no later than 0100. Just be careful about the time the return flight departs back to the home airport.

Don't do this. It shouldn't be that hard to find times that avoid any takeoffs/landings in 0000-0455. There's no reason the week's schedule needs to start at 0500, it's fine to have it in the middle of the day, and have a shorter redeye flight, or a 31+ hour round trip to get from a late night departure on one flight to a morning departure on the next flight.
