Scheduling a different plane an existing route

Hello,

Very new here. 1 of my 2 planes has a C check next month, so obv 20 days out of service. I have just leased an old aircraft that could take over while the other is in maintenance.

Can I do this? I can't see how to do it. Unless I clear all routes, then set them up again for the latest plane but then I'd get all the airport slot fees (if there are any slots anyway).

Any help appreciated (pretty soon) :)

thanks

On scheduling screen, you can move schedule from one aircraft to another (Green arrow pointing right) as long as the both aircraft are of the same fleet type.

For example, you can move schedule from A320 to another A320 or to A321.  But you can't move it to a 737.

Ah, got it thank you.

It's not the same aircraft though so I can't. Damn. I could only afford a cheaper plane..... thanks anyway

You can change the aircraft type for an existing route (use the dropdown). As long as it has similar performance specs (speed / turnaround) you can probably roughly match the existing slots or live with a few more delays for the meantime. When the check is completed, re-change it.

As long as your departure times are within about 30 minutes of the original, and remain within the same clock-hour (i.e. 08:00-08:55) there should be no extra slot charges when you change your schedule to the other plane. And even if you go outside those parameters, the slot charge to change an existing flight is nowhere near the cost for a new flight.
