pax distribution again

Hi... what I saw (and don't like much) is this: I flew on SFO-LAX with ATR-72 on about 20 flights daily and I had a very good knowledge about how many passengers normaly fly on which flight. Then I made an experiment and replaced one ATR-72 with an ATR-42 (same seats, but not so many) ... and guess what: I got less passengers on the ATR-42 than on the ATR-72! (not load factor, but number of passengers) ... (by the way, the passengers I had in the ATR-72 were not more than the ATR-42's capacity ... just to mention that).... ok, I know... I'm always complaining about the pax distribution... anyway... I think this is still the biggest problem of the game...

Really, you'd need days of data to support that claim.  If all variables remained the same (CI/RI, seat type, flight departure/arrival) AND you need to include any changes with possible competitors flying that route, then you can make this determination.

There are many variables that make this difficult to test scientifically.  There is no 'plane' preference written into the code.

Normally:  Take the number of pax and divide it by the number of flights between two points.  (Provided all planes fly between 0500 and 2255, none are too close in departure to affect the 'one plane' rule.... see above.....)    Essentially you will get that % of the market share.

Hard to test, but I've definitely noticed this across the board whenever I downsize a plane. If I'm flying a 737-800 at 50% load factor, and I downsize to a -600, over time my load factor on the route remains at about 50%. The actual number of pax flying the route is reduced when I fly a smaller plane even though that plane has a higher capacity than the total pax actually flying the route on the larger plane. While I'm not currently participating in any of the game worlds, most of my routes tend to be to cities that can only support one flight per day, and most of them have no competition because nobody else wants to fly to podunk.

I tested this for many weeks (game weeks) ... or even months. So, it's not just a "feeling".
