New aircraft models on used market

I've done some searching and could not find an answer for this.  How long after a new aircraft model goes into production does it become available on the used market?  I'm not talking about planes sold by other players, only AI brokers.

Is there a set time interval between certification of a new model and it's apperance in the used market?

Thanks.

Sami

Depends entirely when the first planes go to the brokers, via bankruptcies etc. May be from months to several years. (usually years)

Planes do not appear out of thin air to the market, each individual plane must be first sold and then built as new to a player before ending to the AI brokers. But in some cases brokers may also order new planes from the prod.lines, but these are rare cases when players keep the lines busy.

= short answer: fully dynamic.

Used planes must be generated, though, at the beginning of the game, correct? Out of curiosity, how is this done? Is it based on the time since the type was introduced and its popularity in the real world?

Well, I just recently grabbed a 707-120 off the used market in JetAge... production running for nearly 2 yrs now, over 40 of them are "in storage" (--> with brokers) and this has been one of the (if not THE) first planes...

And this is how sami enters the number of used aircraft at game start:

Correct, both.

(and total number of planes generated is based on player count.)
