I've done a bit of searching and realized how people love 767-400ER and A333, and they talked about the disadvantage of 787. I never fly these planes before but now I want to. But I still don't understand how 787 is in disadvantage. Somebody said it's even worse than 777. Can somebody enlighten me?

First the price...
767-400ER with GE is 175M, lease at about 2.2M/month burning 4937kg/hr fuel
A333 with GE basic is 180M, lease at about 2.3M/month burning 5240kg/hr fuel
787-8 with RR is 190M, lease at about 2.4M/month burning 4560kg/hr fuel. Even if I get the GE engine it costs 184M, lease at about 2.34M/month and still burn only 4650kg/hr fuel!
So the 787-8 is not considerably more expensive... At least with the differences of 15M you won't be able to get any plane that has more than 40 seats. The monthly lease is 200k differences which is not too crazy because you can save it from the fuel and speed...

767-400ER flies at M0.8, A333 flies at M0.82, and 787-8 flies at M0.85. So it require less time for 787-8 to fly to the destination with less fuel burned. 787-8 also only require 6 crew of which 764 require 8 and A333 require 9. With premium business x20 + max out standard economy you get about 20 more pax in A333 and 764. But the differences shouldn't be that great right?

In addition 787 can fly to 7000nm if somehow I want to go ULH, which is better than 767-400ER in this case because you had to either get 762ER or 763ER in order to get close to this range but with less pax and less economical.

With all the figures I don't really see a major disadvantage of using 787-8 except waiting for the back order. But why everybody here try to avoid it like a plague? Fuel price is less than 800 now so I guess 787's saving won't be great but what if it's at 1000 or 1200?

How old were the posts you read about the 787? Now that we have real data for the 787-8 I believe it is pretty accurate in the sim and that made it an awesome aircraft to fly. Didn't quite a lot of people have success with this?

The 787 has been tweaked as of late.  It was completely inferior to many already-existing a/c.  I haven't played a modern scenario in awhile so I am not an expert on them.

But I will say that they were not loved in the past.

The 787-8 is great in the game, but the 787-9 (which should in a way replace the 772) is something of a letdown. The max capacity is the very same as the 787-8 and thast shouldn't be right.
