BTW, in the meantime, would someone please take a look at my airline and tell me where im going wrong please because I have over 70 a/c but still making the same amount of profit as when I only had 10. How on earth do I increase my profit margin?

I am currently trying to pay off my loans that are backed by a/c. It's jst takin 2 long.

just look below the posting box, where you have "additional options". there you can add them from your computer

or use "(img)http://"LINK TO THE IMAGE"(/img)" (use imageshack.us e.g.) [change the () to [] in order to make it work]

cheers

1. Hard to make money with 762's. You've got a bunch of them.
2. Leased 777's aren't good for profit either.
3. 4 fleet types flying hurts. Cut it down to 3 and you'll see a big difference.
4. You seem to have a fairly low premium mix - is there any way to reconfig your planes to capture all premium demand (if it exists)?

Simple rules would be to either:

1) lower costs

or

2) increase revenue

Some good methods for either have already been suggested.

I know about the 762's but they were in abundance so I used them to expand but maintainence kills off any potential profits. Max profit p/w is about $600,000-$700,000. Lowest is about $163,000 Really want to replace them but with purchased a/c and not leased as the leases for 767ER's and 764 are so pricey and 788/9 have long queues.

The leased B777 are just a pilot/test to see if I can make good or decent profit on ULH flights so I only leased for 12mnths. Not liking what I see though. Will try B777-300ERs but I can get rid of them with just a payment of £600,000. So any time I want.

Yeah. My main fleets are ATR's, Ejets and B767's. Occassionally, I might lease another fleet type just as a trial period.

Another thing I have seen people mentioning but never really understood because this is my longest game and I am still learning from aws-veterans such as yourself. Premiums. Do you mean 1st and business class?

Keep in mind that the "profit" number that you see is typically before staffing costs, which will run 100-200k+ per plane per week (depends on aircraft size/staff requirements, etc), therefore the plane that you're "making" 167k is actually taking away from your bottom line rather than adding to it.

Your fleet commonality charges will roughly double when you go from 3 flying fleet types to 4 types. Look at your fleet commonality page, which presents a monthly figure - and watch how it fluctuates signifcantly between those two numbers of active fleets. If you have 2 active main fleets and want to try out a third, that's not a big deal, but if you're trying out number 4, plan on not posting nearly as much of a profit.

And yes, premium means business/first class seats. Look at each route that you're covering, and make sure you're supplying at least the level of demand that there is - that one change can boost revenue while keeping costs steady.

Jackson

Wow. The staff cost. Ok. Thanks schro.

First thing I'll do is make sure all aircraft has the correct seating plan. I don't get alot of premium seats compared to major hubs. On average, it's ranges from 3/15/-5/28 for long haul to 7/43 to ultra long haul. Second will be to cancel the B777 for now unless I were to see alot of cheap lease B77E/3's or my before tax revenue went up dramatically.

Cheers Schro
