Hey all,

After 5 bked airlines, I finally got a good airline going in Vancover.

Now , after adding 6 MD 81's im debating ordering 733's or getting 767's for LH to solidify my stance in Canada  ;D

Game year is 1985. Whats the best plane for that era? And the future  ;D

I would not rush to LH, especially from Western Canada.  You don't really have much in terms of LH in 3000nm range.  You are really starting from 4000nm and higher, using my estimate.  The longer the distance the more challenging it is to achieve good profitability.

I would stick to 737 as much as you can, build your airline and also build up your CI.  Don't start LH before you are at 80 or even 90.  Your LFs for LH heavily depend on CI of your airline.

I'm using the 767 on a 3000nm+ route, raking in about 100k profit on each flight. They seem to be the most efficient plane at the moment..but order backlog is growing. The 763 has been certified for added capacity. Still a few 747, L1011 and DC-10s on the used market last time I checked if you have the urge to rapidly nab some, but they are ageing and could prove expensive.

But I think it would be wise to listen to JumboShrimp, I'm struggeling to hold myself back from expanding too fast myself and deciding on planes. For now my startegy has been to lease a fleet of 767's till something else comes out and I have money to buy planes outright.

edit: My CI is 56 and l/f ranges from 75 to 85% on my only LH route so far and it's not over supplied. Opening up another in a few days.
