Hi,
So how everyone doing so far?
Think I'm start to struggle abit. I decided my first plane would be a long haul, and leased a 747. So whilst it seems like everyone else is raking in profits and already ordering 2nd and 3rd planes, I'm struggling to catch up. Got a company image of only 31 and route image of 21 so my load factor is still below 70%, even with price discount.
At least my punctuality has improved and I seem to be suffering less malfunctions.

For now, all I can do is sit and watch, and check occasionally. Ive managed to afford another lease on a b734 so will have to wait for delivery on that.
Dont think I'll jump into longhaul straight away in future. My mistake.

I hope everyone else is having more fun than me?!

Regards

Luca

I believe Long Haul is the key in this game, at least if you country is small and you have a good competition in domestic flights.

With the limited startup cash a longhauler is indeed not perhaps the best choice. Start with short/medium range planes (x2) and expand to LH when the financial situation is a bit more secure.

I have one long haul plane and I'm doing fine...

Jps

70% LF with a 747 is not bad. You have some 300 PAX on board, which is what 2 smaller aircraft carry. Also, LH tickets are more expencive, meaning you'll get more money. So I think you should be doing good as long as you fly the route 4-6 times/week. And again, don't just look at the number of aircraft the others have, but the size of the airplane. Your 747 is the same (roughly) as 2 small jets, so you could say you have your 3rd plane coming.

I envy you, route image 21 and 70% LF  :o

I only managed 55% LF on my 42 seater  with the price discount :(

well 24 hours ago, I was having at least 1 cancellation per week which was very frustrating. So I sacrificed a days income to do a B check instead, which brought my a/c up to 83%. I also learnt not to rush price increase only after 2 weeks.
