Slot fees

Hi
I had a question on slots fees.
Given that I have a daily flight, is it possible to break that up into one flight with frequency 123456 and a second one with frequency 7 without paying additional slot fees?

The reason I ask is that I opened a route from CLE to EWR with frequency 1234567 and payed the slot fees for all days.
I then realized that I wanted a slightly different departure on sunday.
I therefore edited the first route to only use frequency 123456. Then I created a new route with the same departure time as the initial flight, i.e. I tried to reuse the slot I actually already paid for, but that didn't work as I had to pay a slot fee for the "new" flight on sunday.
I therefore tried to revert the change I did on the first route, i.e. changing back to freq 1234567, but when I tried to add sunday I still had to pay another slot fee for sunday.

Is there another way of handling this?

You have to delete the route in question, but make sure to un-check the little box on the lower part of the page that says "release slots to public" (or the like). You then can create your new routes (123456 and 7), using the departure times of the just deleted route. There shouldn't be any fees associated in this way (unless the departure time on day 7 is off by a certain amount).
