Hi, and welcome to the world of AirwaySim!  8)

Like you have noticed, this is a quite complicated game. However, once you get the hang of it, it goes smoothly  ;)

Firstly, have you read the Manual? It includes lots of tips on what to focus on in the beginning.
Furthermore, there's Swiftus' Guide for Newbs. It also has a lot of clues. However, the A-B-C- routes mentioned in it are not available at the moment (instead, we have bases).

So, after reading those, it's just try and learn ;)
You have 3 Bk's in every game before you have to join it again (and pay that 5 credits), so don't be afraid to BK, if you are doing bad.

Few important tips:
- Lease costs kick in after 4 weeks, so if before that you only make a few thousand dollar profit, it's not good enough and you need to get it better.
- Fly as few routes as possible, as often as possible. So, choose routes with big demand. If there's a competitor flying a big aircraft, you may be able to snatch his customers with more frequency, but it's always better to fly non-congested routes.
- Fly short routes. The more flights you have, the more money you make. Usually <500 is sufficient for an aircraft the size of 737/A320. Make the evening flight longer, eg so that it departs at 20:00, crosses some time zones, lands at 22:00, departs again at 23:00, and land at your home base around 5:00.

Hope this helps, and also remember, that a lot of the questions you wonder may have already been answered, so use the search ;)

Happy gaming!

1>  Don't  modify your pricing unless you really wanna see that early LF jump.  It helps a little bit in the early days when your RI is low to drop pricing about 10% but all it does is increase your LF a bit, not your total profits.  Once your RI has reached 100 never touch your pricing.  Not worth it in AWS at this point.

2>  95% of the time, regular standard seating is just fine.  On smaller planes on short <2hr flights you can get away with a higher density seating.  On really, really long international flights you may get some benefit from more space.  But for domestic operations your standard seating will work and everything else will just cost you money.

3>  I can't see inside the Beginner's World, so I can't see the status of each airport.  LAX is certainly a good choice provided there's not already someone there that's taking all the demand.

4>  Every plane should be assigned to as many routes as possible.  Start closer and move further.  So suck up all the nearby demand you can to dense locations before moving further away.  I say "dense locations" because it's not necessarily better (though it usually is) to fly to 6 different nearby locations each once a day versus flying to a further away location just 3 times per day.  Density saves you money because you're not hiring as many people, but don't fly too far and lose too many turns on your plane just for the sake of flying a dense route, there's a balance to be struck there.

As for advice -- get more than one plane.  Your initial LF is normal for an early airline as people don't know about you yet and your RI and CI are really low.  In time, provided there's no competition, you'll get that plane 90+% full.  But you need more than a single plane to cover your overhead expenses.   You've got a lot of people working back at your HQ in LA that need to be paid, and a single plane of domestic revenue isn't making enough to pay all of them and still turn a substantial profit.

Thanks to both of you alot of Good helpful   info.

Ashamed to say No i have not read the manual,  you probably Guessed that, However i will read it !

Another question for you guys Should   1 plane fly the same Route   lax to ORD   same time 6 days a week ?   do passengers fly at all hours of the night and day

Thanks Again.  matt

It doesn't matter which plane is flying the route (if it's of same type). And for the moment, you should just stick to one plane type.

Also, the time (apart from not taking off or landing between 00:00 and 5:00) doesn't really matter. There may be more demand on some routes in peak hours, like morning when people go to work, and evening when they come back, but I never plan my routes according to that. And, you can fly to the same destination at different times each day, though scheduling-wise that may not be the best choise (unless the route is used to fill all the gaps in the schedules of other planes, to cover for example some extra time from maintenance).
