Which small planes are best? Why the knock on Bombardier?

I have tried Bombardier, ATC, Short and maybe Embraer.  I don't know that I have a favorite, but which get the most bang for the buck?

There are a ton of smaller airports near some nice hubs and eventually I want to spread a bit and find a spot where there is zero competition for those smaller airports.  I am looking at the Bombardier but have read that they are a bad choice.

Why?  Is there a more economical choice that is way above the rest?

CRJ's are good if you use them right (ie no further than 500nm as many times a day as you can cram in).
I personally found that Saab 340's are alright if you own them. Profit margins are tight but its possible.

An-140 is pretty good. Only about 120k lease rate you.

CRJ1s and CRJ2s are awful when gas gets high.  This is real in game and in real life.

Aye, Swiftus has a point there. Any regional jet both in AWS and real life suffers in high fuel price times. Hence why many are disposing of CRJ's and those beautiful ERJ's

How about Havilland's DHC-8 series? They always managed to turn good profit for myself.

They will all return as busines jets, just you wait and see.

AN-140s and Xian MA60s have a lot of bang for buck

unfortunately in the real world they have to much bang for buck

There's a reason regionals pay their employees so badly. The profits just aren't there. Every time I've branched into regional aircraft I've lost money.

Bombardier Q400.  90% as fast as a RJ.  70% less fuel.

you loose 5-10 mins on a 1500NM route, but save about 1500$ of fuel in comparison to CRJ7, which has the same size [with a fuel price of +/- 950$]

so rather think about it!
