What's the exact definition of "Longhaul" in this game? Would a route from US East Coast to US West Coast be considered as a Longhaul flight?

That would fall under the domestic category of classifications.

I'm not sure what the breaking point for international short vs longhaul is though - my guess is ~3000mi is the breaking point.

Generally speaking an ocean is involved.  Or, a change in continents over so many hours of flying (not mexico to colombia, for instance)

Sami

Can't remember exactly but must be at least XX miles long (3000 nm?) and span over two continents. Or something in that way.

Long Haul is mostly seen as flights at over 5 hours continuous duration (well thats the definition in my corner of the world!)

Not if you fly with Thomsons/First Choice! 6 1/2 hour flight to Egypt apparently comes under short haul so you fly on the planes with 30" seat pitch! (i.e. not good if you have long legs!) :'(

In AWS at any rate the minimum distance for Long Haul appears to be 2500 miles.  You can see this at airports that have 0% Long Haul demand but have international Short Haul demand.  Go over 2500 miles and your demand drops to zero.

MFM-DOH (Macau-Doha) Is over 3200NM and Macau shows up as 100% international short haul.

Short-haul flight: <3 hours
Medium-haul flight: 3 to 6 hours
Long-haul flight: >6 hours

A short-haul domestic flight is commonly categorized into being no longer than 500 mi (800 km) 1.5 hours in length
A short-haul international flight is defined as a flight under 3 hours in length, when it is operated in two different countries
A Medium-haul flight is defined as a flight between 3 and 6 hours in length.
A Long-haul flights are journeys typically made by wide-body aircraft that involve long distances, typically beyond six and a half hours in length, the types are: Long-haul domestic for huge countries and Long-haul international.

same continent, right?
With some continents stretching over more than 4000 miles, the "same continent" restrictions seems a little harsh no?

Shorthaul in AWS seems to be under 3400nm if it's in the same continent and under 2400nm if you're flying to a different continent.

Kabul, Afghanistan has no longhaul.
From Kabul to Narita 3410nm = no demand
and to Haneda 3387nm = has demand

From Kabul to Vienna  a little over 2400nm = no demand
and to Budapest a little under 2400nm = has demand.

Haneda has no long haul demand, just a bit of short haul but mainly domestic. th distances vary, but generally:

same country = domestic
different country but same continent = short haul
different country, different continent, under 2400NM = short haul
different country, different continent, 2400NM and above = long haul

It is 3400 miles on the same continent and 2400 miles to another continent.
