New games - scenarios

I would like to see an all-world game where we can have the following;
no limits on number bases
no limits on number of aircrafts at additional bases
possibility of doing ABCBA routes

and, possibility of opening up bases within 3, 4, or 5 world zones :
Zone 1: Americas (which would include north and south america)
Zone 2: Euro and Africa zone (all of europe including turkey)
Zone 3: Asia, Middle east and South Pacific (including Australia)

Obviously, the latter is pure fictional and does not reflect the current political world but then again this is a game.

Who would be interested in this scenario and what are your thoughts on this idea?

limited to 100 or so players, yes. ;)

JonesyUK

Agreed, but no player limits either  ;D

Curse

I'd like to have a game starting at the end of WW2 (1945, 1946) and ending at the latest possible time, I think it's 2020. Full world, historic fuel prices, medium difficulty, 3 airlines per airport.

No baseing in the top 20 airports would be cool.

Great to get your feedback  :)
I sorta of agree to no player limits aswell, I think it would be too easy to limit it to 100 players.
I think with this openskies policy it would allow everybody a chance to perform at their level. For instance, a less experienced player could choose a smaller less busy airport and still expand very nicely as they can open bases anywhere in their continent and eventually move on to larger airports.
Also, I like the idea of a very long game going from beginning of jets into 2020.

I NEED LHR AS MY BASE!!!! ;D

but I am definetly wanting that 1945-2020 game, though sami said that's not gonna happen too close to now..

It'd be fun just for an oddball scenario I think. It would reduce the size of monster airlines and give most a good chance. (Imagine not having to wait 5 years for a few A320s or 737s) That's a scenario I'd pay to play.

Curse

I think this wouldn't be a scenario most player start and play till the end. It's more one thing always people join, play and leave.

So for example the joining costs of such a scenario could be lower and therefore you have to pay 1.5 credits a week or any other systems that forces people to play there for some years, leave, and play again. Also the days should be 15 minutes or 20 minutes... I'm sure sami knows exactly how this must be handled and what is possible

No Dont like the idea having hubs and then being able to do ABCBA Routes - players (albeit not all) wanted hubs and they got hubs, now some want to have their cake and eat by being able to do ABCBA routes also as wel las opening unlimted hubs - ridiculous it would happen in RL so why allow it to happen in game? If this did happen I think AWS would lose my custom as the current game system is frustrating enough without the addition od ABCBA - I would say it has to be either one or the other not both.

Sami

Yes, as posted before multileg routes WILL be allowed in domestic sectors and inside EU as that is allowed in reality too. This update will be done in some later devel. version.

People want unlimited hubs because they got the will to extend their network worldwide, just like in real life. Maybe not unlimited, but allow us to have hubs at anywhere we wish to. Of course, there should be some terms and conditions such as strong link between HQ and the desired hub airports.

Just like Qantas open their hub at Singapore, Cathay Pacific open hubs at Bangkok, Taipei and AirAsia Group got their hubs all over Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia.

+1 ;)

i'm 1/2 interested again....

Yeah, but IRL all countries (+EU) have separate agreements about the rights of the airlines to open hubs and carry passengers. Qantas can't just come and open a hub to let's say USA.

What they can do, is of course operate between AUS-USA and maybe NZ-USA but they don't have the rights to sell seats inside the USA (They fly SYD-LAX-JFK but can't sell tickets to LAX-JFK leg.)

I'd definitely say strong NO to the possibility to open a hub anywhere I wanted.

Nice, this is getting fine tuned  :) thanks to your input
I can live with some restrcitions outside a Zone, as described above, ie no opening up a base outside my Zone. I know the ABCBA route is coming up combined with base system which will be a very nice addition.

But I really hope we can relax those the current restrictions on number of bases we can open (make it unlimited) and number of aircrafts we can assign (make it unlimited aswell).  And broaden my possibilities to open bases outside my country but within my zone (ie Americas)  I could even imagine even the hosting country to impose a tax at my outside base, ie My HQ is at JFK, and I wish to open a base in Toronto (sorry Skytrain  ;) I would imagine Canada would impose a tax on my Toronto base - just to be fair to their airlines  ;)
Just thinking outloud  :)

Or basing reeeeeaaally expensive on those airports, but still permited. It's unreal to restrict basing on 20 biggest airports.

I was just saying it would be an interesting scenario.  :-\
