Kick me if this question gives an ''obvious'' answer. So im flying from Sapporo to various routes in Asia, and what i noticed is that a lot of routes don't have any demand or atleast very low.
But when there isn't demand, will there eventualy be demand when i fly those routes? Because i noticed that on my first flight to a 70 pax/day destination, i had over 120 people on board...

Thanks!

If your airline has a good reputation you can always attract more pax than your demand graphs indicate and so it's always worth putting a slightly larger aircraft on a route than is required.  Over supplying a route induces some extra demand, so AWS models basic supply and demand principles I suppose :)

I've never seen 0 demand increase, unless there are political factors like the break up of the USSR, when cities like Riga, Vilnius etc open up.

Ah oke, thats very helpfull, thanks. Now i atleast know why my HNL route didn't work  ;D (0% demand)

Just a second, while I step in David  (:)), if you see zero demand on any route, you will not be able to create any demand either. I asked the same question of sami awhile back and he said, if it shows zero demand, don't go in there. You will attract no one no matter how much marketing you try. Jusy an added FYI. :)

Now this is true if there is some demand at least. I have never EVER seen demand increase from zero. It'd be nice if you could create demand but seems like it would be awfully expensive to try what would prorbably go down in flames. And the game is not set up for it any way. (Yet?)

I'm hoping this very exciting idea for the future will eventually be the basis for demand, but I can imagine (as Sami alludes to in the thread) it would be very complicated to set up.

You could drive demand up since its already there.I wouldn't use any wide bodies now, but maybe something with just over the capacity you are looking at. Maybe offering 737-400 or similar would be the way to go because they are very versatile and don't require a long turnaround (albeit I go for 60 minutes when the minimum trunaround says 40 min. If I can't do more than the minimum I hire a couple of more ground handlers and customer service. It seems to help with the couple of extra bodies.). Could you add a small C Class cabin to this route? Does maybe 10 seats in that class warrant that addition? If so, C class will make you some money. Make sure your CI is up and that you're your flights on time 90% or more if you can manage it? Just remember that you can not create demand from zero. Thats all.

Just looked at a sampling of your routes. Perhaps 737-300 to start then add a 400? Remember its a slow game. :)
