Purchase / Leasing

Does the following strategy broadly work:

You need to get hold of some long range aircraft and the used market is quite dry. So you order some new aircraft on a 3 year lease, with a view to buying them at the end of the lease (if you can afford it; or renew lease if you cannot).

Other than the disadvantage of having to wait until you new aircraft have been built, does that not solve the dry used market problem?
Is it very expensive to have an aircraft built for your configuring and then just lease it for only 3 years... (i.e. are you paying a huge premium)?

Thanks

You will have to buy it immediately before the lease expires, or else you will pay a big premium once the lease renews.  Otherwise, it isn't such a bad deal.  I did something to that effect in DOTM and it worked great for me.

Yes Jimbo, this game gets a tad boring around day 8 and lasts until around day 14 (depending on the player).

the big rush is over and everyone is trying to figure out their strategic position within the game.

I am flat broke.  I have a massive loan out.  BUT, I have 5 A310s on their way in to me starting in under 2 months.

With the new spacing in plane building, everyone still has a chance to get in early for some really amazing planes.

After 3 years lease, one can often purchase new aircraft cheaper than buy out those 3 year old ones...
