Flying 39 passengers for 1790 nm in a jet, does it make any sense? My fokker 100/70's are wildly profitable on even the longest routes, but this aircraft would really help me seal up alot of un-served destinations that have been too far and too little demand. Tempted to place an order for a few and see how it goes, any experience or tips with these aircraft?

I would advise against it, only go for such a small jet if you can use it in the same fleet group, otherwise a turboprop will be much better on most routes. Dash 8 or F50 for example.

~2000nm long routes with <50pax are so thin that I'd say it's not a smart move as the fixed expenses are quite high and you cannot utilize the aircraft very well there. .. about 4,5h flight I guess so that means basically only one or two round-trips a day.

I'd use the regional jets in routes less than 1000nm.
