Frequencies and flights

I was scheduling my planes and thought of a very basic question. Let's say we have a long-haul flight that is to be flown daily. Does it matter whether it is scheduled as one flight flown daily, seven different flights that depart on the same hour on each weekday, or some other combination where multiple flights with different numbers are involved but adding up to a daily service? In other words, does the system consider frequencies for every route pair or only for each flight number?

You can have 7 different routes on 7 different days and that means 7x week frequency. (like one would expedct it to be)
